Packages and pricing, verified
Every published Adelaide special-effects price in 1 table, the wedding and proposal tier ladders side by side, and the things that actually move the number: the ex GST trap, the dry hire floor, travel fees and the deposit.
This is the single page built to be compared against. For the case for each wedding moment, see wedding effects by moment; for full proposal inclusions, see proposal packages. Every number below is dated and sourced, not aspirational.
Every price on this site is presented as verified market data, attributed and dated, never as a fixed invoice. Wedding Sparks Adelaide is an enquiry and matching service, not the operator: you are matched to a verified South Australian supplier for your date and venue, and the number confirmed with that supplier is the one that counts.
Every verified Adelaide price
Sourced from published Adelaide operator pricing and dry hire listings, checked 10 August 2026. Inc GST unless the note says otherwise.
Every figure in this table is published Adelaide market data, attributed and dated, not a Wedding Fireworks Adelaide price list. Pricing shifts over time; treat anything more than a few months old as indicative and confirm the current figure at enquiry.
| Item | Verified range | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Cold spark, 2 machines, 1 moment | $400 to $690 | The entry point everywhere in Adelaide. The cheapest verified local quote was $400; the dearest at this spec was $690 quoted ex GST, which is why it looks higher again on the invoice. |
| Cold spark, 4 machines, 1 moment | $690 to $995 | 4 machines is the spec that reads as an arch rather than 2 lonely fountains, and it is where most couples land. |
| Cold spark across 3 moments | $900 to $1,190 | Entrance, first dance and cake. The operator stays for the night rather than firing once and leaving. |
| Cold spark plus dry ice first dance | $1,250 to $1,875 | The most-photographed combination at an Adelaide reception, and the top of the mainstream market. |
| Dry ice low fog, standalone | $275 to $475 | Cheaper as an add-on to a spark package than booked on its own, because the travel and staffing are already paid for. |
| CO2 gun with tank | $250 to $400 | Per gun including the bottle. Extra bottles typically add $120. |
| Confetti, guns or cannons | $300 to $650 | Budget separately for a venue cleaning fee. Several Adelaide venues charge one, and a few ban confetti outright. |
| Waterfall spark curtain | From $1,200 | Rigged above head height so the sparks fall. Only 2 Adelaide operators were found offering it, and rigging and venue fees sit on top. |
| Dry hire, per cold spark machine | $150 to $170 | Machine only, no operator, no insurance, no venue paperwork, and you carry the risk. Read the dry hire guide before you choose this. |
| Fully styled proposal setup | $400 to $2,145 | Adelaide's published proposal styling range. The top of that range buys an arch, neon, hundreds of LED candles, red carpet and a photographer. |
| Outdoor fireworks display | $2,500 to $10,000 | Average $3,000 to $5,000 for a wedding. Licensed pyrotechnician only, and most Adelaide reception venues physically cannot host one. |
The wedding tier ladder
4 tiers, positioned just above the discount end of the market and below the interstate multi-city operators. These are indicative packages for the enquiry and matching service: the exact number is confirmed once we know your venue and its own rules. See which moments suit your day before picking a tier.
| Tier | Moments | Machines | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry | 1 moment | 2 machines | $550 |
| Popular | 2 moments | 2 plus 4 machines | $850 |
| Full | 3 moments | 2 plus 6 plus 2 machines | $1,150 |
| Signature | Full, plus dry ice first dance | As above, plus dry ice | $1,450 |
The proposal tier ladder
3 tiers built against Adelaide's published proposal styling range of $400 to $2,145, and the $995 starting point of the only Adelaide business that already combines styling with a live effect.
| Tier | What it adds | Price |
|---|---|---|
| The Question | Neon or LED letters, a styled setup, candles, setup and pack-down | $550 |
| The Moment | Adds a cold spark cue fired on the yes, an arch, red carpet, more styling | $950 |
| The Whole Night | Adds dry ice, a photographer, florals and a location with a permit handled | $1,750 |
Full inclusions, exclusions and the add-on menu for all 3 proposal tiers live on proposal packages.
What moves the number
No 2 quotes in this market look alike, and it is rarely because someone is padding the invoice. 6 things do almost all of the work:
- How many moments you want covered in a single night, not just the entrance.
- Machine count within each moment: 2 machines reads differently to camera than 4.
- Whether dry ice is added, which brings its own staffing and setup time.
- Whether your venue's policy requires written paperwork, a risk assessment or a fire warden before it will approve anything.
- Distance travelled outside the Adelaide metro area.
- Timing: a peak wedding weekend or a December proposal date leaves less room to negotiate.
None of the 6 is hidden once you know to ask about it, which is the point of publishing this table rather than a single headline number. A quote that looks high next to a competitor's is usually answered by 1 of these 6 rather than by margin.
The ex GST trap
1 Adelaide operator in the verified pricing above quotes ex GST while every other operator quotes inc GST, which means a headline number that looks identical on 2 different sites can sit 10% apart once GST is added. This site publishes everything inc GST unless a specific row says otherwise, for exactly that reason: a shopper comparing 3 quotes side by side is comparing the same thing.
It is worth reading every quote you receive elsewhere with that trap in mind. A number that beats everything on this page by a wide margin is worth a direct question, in writing, about whether GST is already included, before it gets treated as the real comparison.
The dry hire floor
$150 to $170 per cold spark machine is the cheapest way to get one into the room, and it is also the number every operated quote gets measured against. It buys the machine only: no operator, no insurance, no venue paperwork, and the risk sits with whoever presses the button. Read dry hire or fully operated before deciding which one actually suits your situation.
Travel fees and the deposit
A travel fee applies outside the Adelaide metro area, covering the Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, the Fleurieu Peninsula and Victor Harbor. No single published figure honestly covers all of those distances, so it is quoted against your specific venue rather than estimated here.
A small deposit holds the date once you have a number you are happy with. The amount depends on which operator you are matched to and the size of the booking, and it is confirmed in writing before you are asked to commit to anything. General weather and cancellation terms are set out on the terms and cancellation page.
Peak dates carry the same mechanics either way. A wedding date in October, November, March or April, or a proposal date anywhere in November through February and especially in December, gives an operator less room to move on price because their calendar is already filling. Locking in the date first, before spending time comparing add-ons, is the single move most likely to protect the number you are quoted.
Questions about the numbers
Answers stated as at 10 August 2026. If yours is not here, put it in the enquiry form and it gets a straight answer, not a brochure.
Are these prices inc GST?
Yes, unless a specific row says otherwise. 1 Adelaide operator in the verified table quotes ex GST, which is exactly the trap this page exists to flag.
Why does the proposal ladder cost more per moment than the wedding ladder?
A proposal has a single shot at a single moment, typically with a location permit to manage, while a wedding package spreads the same equipment and setup cost across several moments in a single night.
Is the deposit refundable?
That depends on the operator you are matched to and is set out in writing before you pay it. The terms and cancellation page covers the general weather and cancellation position.
Why is dry hire so much cheaper than every package above?
Because it is a different product, not a discount on the same one. $150 to $170 buys the machine only, with no operator, no insurance and no venue paperwork. Every tier on this page includes all 3, which is most of what the extra cost above the dry hire floor actually pays for.
